#ANYDVD HD CLEANER FULL#
If you want a full disc backup, it gets more convoluted:įolder structure is easier to use for additional file processing, but more annoying to store and manage. If all you want is the specific content files, using MakeMKV to rip to MKV files is by far the easiest solution regardless of disc format. So, which is better for backing up? The answer is, it depends.

Many other video players are available that will play unencrypted ISO files, VLC being the most well known. Only PowerDVD will play encrypted ISO files (I think?). While there are many other programs that do this, I only mention these because ImgBurn is one of the most widely used, and CloneDVD2/CloneBD are specifically intended to integrate with AnyDVD. They are not free, and only work on DVD and Bluray/4k respectively. They also support transcoding among other features. It is free and works on DVD, Bluray, and 4k Bluray.ĬloneDVD2 and CloneBD can be used to create ISO files directly from decrypted disks, or from unencrypted folder structure backups. ImgBurn can be used to create ISO files from unencrypted folder structure backups. Additionally, it has less support for drives than MakeMKV. It does NOT support the latest encryption standard (AACS2.1) though this is only used on a handful of discs. If files are ripped to folder structure they MUST be decrypted.ĪnyDVDHD supports 4k Blurays the same as standard Blurays, with the caveat that only a select number of drives running supported firmware are used. If files are ripped to ISO they can remain encrypted or be decrypted. It supports ripping Blurays to ISO or folder structure. To be clear: If the DVDs do not contain structural protection or if they do and you never intend to burn them to blank media, copying to ISO with AnyDVD is fine.ĪnyDVDHD is required for Bluray. For this reason they generally recommend DVDs be ripped to folder structure which will remove the structural protection. If you attempt to burn such an ISO to a blank DVD it will cause problems. It is not possible to make an encrypted backup of a DVD due to the nature of the encryption used.Īdditionally, if a DVD contains structural protection this will be copied into the ISO file despite being decrypted. Regardless of option, it MUST be decrypted. It supports the latest encryption standard (AACS2.1) though this is only used on a handful of discs.ĪnyDVD can rip a DVD to ISO or folder structure. There is the slysoft work around mentioned above but i would only use that as a last resort from experience.

The cable and the TV also, DVI isnt automatically HDCP like HDMI so that needs to be checked also.

TMT3 is my preferred and what im using at the moment, its the only software out there that still supports HD-DVDs.Īs for the BluRays not playing dont forget the firmware of the drive needs constant updating to the latest version so that might need a check, most LG drives come with an auto updater.Īs for HDCP, yes everything needs to be compliant the pc, if its an nvidia card the latest nvidia control panel has a nice HDCP check section for you. The included Power DVDs you get are never any good first off, they restrict you to 2 channels through the software so there is no way to get 5.1 end of.

Ive got a dedicated HTPC with the LG combi drive someone mentioned above. Ive been this whole process before myself with several different setups and software choices.
